Dog Daycare Requirements

Before your dog can join us for daycare, here's everything you need to know to get started. These requirements keep every dog in our care safe, healthy, and happy.

1. Meet & Greet: Temperament Assessment

Every new dog must complete a meet & greet temperament assessment before enrolling in daycare. This one-on-one evaluation helps us:

  • Confirm your dog is comfortable in a group play setting

  • Assess compatibility with other dogs

  • Identify any special handling needs

2. Vaccination Requirements

All dogs must provide proof of vaccination from a licensed veterinarian prior to their first day.

Required:

  • Rabies — required by law; puppies must be vaccinated by 16 weeks

  • Distemper/Parvo (DHPP)

  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough) — updated every 6–12 months

Recommended (optional but encouraged):

  • Canine Influenza

  • Leptospirosis

3. Health & Safety Standards

To protect the health of all dogs in our care, dogs must meet the following:

  • Free of fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites

  • No signs of contagious illness (coughing, diarrhea, skin infections, etc.)

  • On a veterinarian-approved flea/tick preventative

  • Spayed or neutered if over 6 months old (industry-standard requirement to reduce conflict and unwanted behaviors; exceptions considered with veterinarian documentation)

4. Age Requirements

  • Puppies: must be at least 16 weeks old with a complete, up-to-date vaccination series

  • Senior dogs: welcome, provided they're in good health and comfortable in a group setting

5. Behavior Guidelines

  • Dogs must be non-aggressive toward people and other dogs

  • Dogs showing excessive stress, anxiety, or unsafe behavior may not be a good fit for a group daycare environment — we're happy to discuss alternatives

6. Required Documentation

  • Completed enrollment form

  • Signed daycare agreement (liability waiver + emergency vet care authorization)

  • Emergency contact information

  • State dog license

7. What to Bring

  • Flat buckle or quick-release collar with ID tag (no choke or prong collars)

  • Non-retractable leash

  • Food, if feeding during their stay — labeled with your dog's name and input feeding instructions on booking

  • A small piece of your clothing (like a t-shirt) to help them feel comfortable
